John H Orr 84 of 1007 West 7th died last night at Santa Fe hospital Topeka. Retired Santa Fe employee and Ottawan survived by nephew Joseph L Smith of Chicago en route. Funeral at Lamb Funeral Home Tuesday 10:50 a.m. burial in Hope cemetery. Fannie DeWald 83 of 736 South Locust died yesterday at 12:30 p.m. Born March 20 1872 in Linn County Iowa she lived in Ottawa over 40 years. Survivors include six children 19 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren three great great grandchildren two sisters and one brother. Funeral at Lamb Funeral Home Monday 2 p.m. interment Highland cemetery.

In St. Louis negotiators between Southwestern Bell Telephone Co and its 51,000 CIO Communication Workers of America union members made limited progress on a pay dispute. The union seeks a 10 cent hourly raise while the company has offered 5 percent. Wages range from 42 to 100 dollars weekly. Talks resume Monday as a strike is possible but no date set.

Faure faces bitter fight over dissolution plan
Paris premier Edgar Faure seeks to dissolve the National Assembly and call early elections in December after cabinet approval. He reserves right to demand a confidence vote if the Assembly resists. No prior instance of a legislature dissolving itself under a five year term.

Fire Claims Two Young Boys in Kansas City Home
A late night fire in Kansas City claimed the lives of four year old Charles Bey and two year old Terry Bey, sons of Mr and Mrs Slankard. The boys were put to bed when the blaze broke out, as relatives and neighbors recall a weekend of visitors and family dinners surrounding the tragedy.
