Ottawa University Hosts Ethnic Festival On Campus

The OU campus in Ottawa hosts an Ethnic Festival on Wednesday featuring artifacts crafts and foods from African Asian and European cultures. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a processional led by Scottish bagpipers and nations flags into the OU Chapel. Representatives from several countries will speak in native languages about peace on earth and each country will set up a booth in the campus mall showcasing its culture. Cultures to be represented include Native Americans Laos Nigeria Israel and Scotland.

Date Set For Cancer Society Community Crusade

Franklin County Unit of the American Cancer Society will run a Community Crusade in Ottawa on Thursday. Volunteers go door to door sharing services, delivering pamphlets, and seeking donations for the coming year. Crusaders meet at Ransom Memorial Hospital at 5:30 p.m. Oct 26 with block assignments and brief training, returning by 7:30 p.m. for pizza and pop.
