Ottawa homecoming features dance, ceremonies, and mascots
Festivities kick off with a 7 p.m parade at OU followed by an 8 p.m bonfire and ceremonies at the intramural field. An Ottawa chief will present authentic garments for an Ottawa Indian student to wear as the Grego mascot is recreated. The 1:30 p.m. homecoming football game precedes Saturday’s Dance Ottawa Dance showcase at the Municipal Auditorium with multiple local dance groups. Local art shows and events fill the day across Ottawa and nearby towns, including Fall Festival in Melvern and regional attractions in Kansas City area sites.
