Hyatt damages reduced in skywalks collapse case
A Jackson County judge cut the Wintz family verdict from 500000 to 100000 for mental anguish from the Hyatt Regency skywalks collapse. Betty Wintz’s 1.5 million award remained intact as juries found her injuries and loss of companionship. The July 17 1981 disaster killed 114 and injured about 200.

Soviets Deny Space Trouble As Cosmonauts Drift
London AP report says BBC quotes James Wilkinson that Salyut 7 leaked propellant left the station virtually unmaneuverable and cosmonauts Alexander Alexandrov and Vladimir Lyakhov were drifting in orbit but Soviet officials deny any leak and press on with the mission. Western reports say a replacement crew exploded on launch and the cosmonauts may return soon with unclear plans for landing.
