Farm Woman Dies In Freak Tractor Accident
In Scottsville Kentucky a farm woman, Rhodie Steenbergen, was pinned to her tractor seat by a lumber beam during a passing car crash. The beam pierced her clothing, ignited gasoline and burned her. Henry G. Bunch, 24, suffered hand burns while attempting to free her.

Morlan funeral rites held at Rantoul church
Funeral services for Mrs Myra A Morlan who died Oct 12 were conducted at the Rantoul Methodist church on Oct 16 with Rev Carl A Grondorf officiating. Pallbearers named Verne W Morlan Jr David E Blake Leslie Reimer Fayne Lathen L D Morlan and Ted Morlan. Mrs Fayne Lathen and Lloyd Griffith sang with Patsy White organist. Rantoul Royal Neighbors attended. Interment was in Stanton cemetery. Also noted a statistic: about 47,000 Americans a year have disabling accidents while putting up or taking down storm windows.
Reds Release More Germans From Siberian Prison Camp
A freight train carrying 599 German war prisoners freed from a Siberian camp arrived at the West German border near Camp Friedland. The total freed since Oct 6 rose to more than 5,000. Soviet Premier Bulganin told Chancellor Adenauer in Moscow that 9,626 German war criminals would be released this month.
