Surgery report notes Mrs. Jack Elmore of Melvern underwent major surgery at Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City yesterday. Mrs Margaret Ecord age 91 died yesterday at the Harris home She was the last Gardner pioneer daughter widow of Ben Ecord Survivors include daughters Mrs Ethel Porter Garnett and Mrs Ecord son John Ecord and Frank Ecord Topeka Four grandchildren Funeral Sunday at 2 30 p m at Harris Methodist Church with Rev Bond officiating burial in the family Garnett cemetery
Funeral services for Mrs Myra Adela Morlan, who died Wednesday night, will be held Sunday at 2 30 p m in the Rantoul Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Stanton cemetery. Born at Rantoul November 20 1875 she lived most of her life in Rantoul. She had been ill at Cedar House nursing home before her death.
The deceased was moved Sunday to Ransom Memorial Hospital and is survived by two sons Verne of Jane and Faye of Alameda, Walif., seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a sister Mrs Mae Springer of Youngstown Ohio. The body remains at the Towner Funeral Chapel until the funeral hour.
The Franklin County Order of De Molay met last evening and elected Thomas Meridith Williams and Edward Morgan Williams to receive the degrees. The chapter planned the Northeast district all day meeting in Ottawa on November 22 with an evening dinner. W. H. Douglas attended as a visitor. Dr. W. C. Harding and J. R. Raffelock of the advisory council were present.
Local markets note Al Kaline of the Detroit Tigers was the only major leaguer to reach 200 hits in 1955. In science, three American researchers and two Japanese scientists received fellowships at Israel's Weizmann Institute for 1955 56.
