Washburn seeks state system join in 1995 plan

Two Die in Kansas Weekend Traffic Crashes
The Associated Press reports two fatalities in Kansas over the weekend. Robert Martynowski, 30, of Leavenworth County, died in a head on collision about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on a Jefferson County road near Winchester. Shane Mooney, 25, from Horton, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday when his car lost control outside Highland, overturned.

17 year old in Stilwell bank robbery charged as adult
OLATHE and Stilwell report a 17 year old Overland Park youth will face one count of aggravated robbery in Johnson County District Court after a Sept. 8 robbery at the Peoples National Bank and Trust in Stilwell. Bond set at $15,000. Another youth, Gary A. Patillo, 17, pleaded guilty Sept. 30 in juvenile court to aggravated robbery for carrying a money bag during the heist.
