Wellsville Legion veteran Foster reflects on service and community
Foster, a Korean War veteran, recalls marching 20 miles to Fort Riley and leading with a 6-foot-7 guidon bearer. He compares military leadership to football, credits Junior Crist for rejoining the American Legion, and notes the Legion’s roles in youth programs, flag duties, and community events while reflecting on Vietnam-era hostility and the Legion’s focus on veterans benefits.
