A large bench donated by Brian Dennis, former Ottawa Main Street director, will be placed at the Ottawa Community Recreation Center at 15th and Ash. The item supports ongoing programs for teens and adults, with funds raised exceeding 38,000 dollars for the project.
A Franklin County gathering featured Sen Pat Apple along with U S Rep Lynn Jenkins Lt Gov Jeff Colyer and Attorney General Derek Schmidt. They spoke to a large crowd while a September 2 meet and greet and an Oct 15 Freedom Celebration Banquet were announced with speakers including Kris Kobach Ron Estes and others. Proceeds from a car show and GOPHER Club card sales support 2012 campaigns.
Princeton 4-H Club officers were approved for the next year under Wade Davis with Alexis Dryden as president and Brock Wood as VP. The meeting set October 2 to 8 for 4-H Week, 8 a.m. October 3 for County 4-H Sunday, and 6:30 p.m. today for achievement night with 7:30 p.m. awards. Members will give short talks on last year’s projects, bring finger foods, and enroll new members. officer training is scheduled for September 20 at Princeton Methodist Church.
