Sign names playground donor after late Alex Bowles-Gregg
Ottawa Springs community honors Alex Bowles-Gregg by adding his name to the Kanza Park sign. His brother Sonny Gregg raised about 336.94 dollars plus two one-dollar bills, with siblings Summer and Joshua contributing as well. Sonny, a third grader, collected funds by placing cans at gas stations and spoke to residents about the project. Ottawa officials attended the Friday presentation at City Hall as Mayor Gene Ramsey praised the effort. Funds will equip Kanza Park playground with any surplus aiding other city parks. Alex died March 12 from injuries when a family vehicle rolled over him. His mother Tammy Payne faces charges including child endangerment and DUI. a pretrial conference is set for Nov. 30.
