Ottawa merchants earn state honors at Main Street awards
The Kansas Main Street Office recognized Ottawa participants for downtown revitalization efforts. Feldkamp Furniture Mart's facade work, New Traditions apartments, the See Us In A Whole New Light campaign, kiosks detailing historic sites, and the $3 million in downtown investments highlighted local pride. Bob Marsh received Volunteer of the Year for guiding design standards and organizing Town Meetings and Your Town conferences. The Ottawa Main Street Association was named host of the 2005 Kansas Main Street Conference, with calls for continued support from local organizations and budgets for public arts and improvements.
