Mary Edith Parmenter 86 of Osawatomie died November 12 2003 at Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center Shawnee. Graveside services 2 PM Saturday at Osawatomie Cemetery. She was born June 13 1917 in Chaffee Missouri to Melvin Louis and Myrtle Lena Harris Smith. She lived in Chaffee Mount Vernon Illinois and Osawatomie where she worked at Made O Day and Osawatomie State Hospital before retiring 1980. She married Bland Clinton Parmenter December 14 1935 in Jackson Missouri. Survived by two sons Thomas Overland Park and Charles Elmira NY seven grandchildren nine great grandchildren and several siblings. The body lies in state 2 PM to 8 PM Friday at Eddy Birchard Funeral Home Osawatomie Memorials to First Christian Church Osawatomie or charity of choice.
