Palestinian and Israeli leaders eye peace after cabinet swearing
In Ramallah Yasser Arafat swore in the cabinet as Palestinian leader Ahmed Qureia won parliamentary approval. Israel’s Silvan Shalom said Prime Minister Ariel Sharon would meet Qureia within about ten days to push the U S backed road map. Both sides blamed the other for years of violence but urged an end to bloodshed and adherence to the road map demanding a halt to violence and dismantling violent groups.
