Allied announces the Signal Aerospace Mobile Communications Division is for sale as part of a strategic review. The MCD operation in Povererice employs 290 with another 90 in Singapore. Buyers would likely retain most staff and keep a presence in Lawrence, with plans to grow the business. No layoffs expected before sale. MCD makes portable two way FM transmitter receivers for land based use.

Bethell to perform with National FFA Chorus in KC
Williamsburg sophomore 15 year old Bethell, daughter of Roger and Kris Jensen and Doug Bethell, will perform at the National FFA Chorus during the FFA convention in Kansas City Missouri. She is a member of Williamsburg FFA and 4 H horse club. The Franklin County 4 H Horse Club recently elected officers led by Lucinda Crane as president and Kurt Rogers as vice president. The club plans to attend the American Royal rodeo this month and held a hayrack ride at the Dunn farm last month. The officers meet at 7 pm on Nov 17 in the Courts Building, Third and Main in KLA.
