Washington AP reports the Bush administration removed government scientists from a long running Missouri River ecosystem project. The move could block flow changes the scientists said were needed to protect endangered species and comply with the Endangered Species Act, while a new Fish and Wildlife Service team weighs whether the Corps can avoid major alterations. The dispute centers on river management from Montana to Missouri, with conservation groups accusing the action of favoring business interests over wildlife.
