Born February 9 1871 in Pawnee county Nebraska he lived in Emporia 150 years before moving to Franklin county. He was a member of First Presbyterian church of Emporia. Survived by Flora Masters Wenzel his wife son Bennett Wenzel a brother Paul Wenzel and two sisters Agnes and Annie Wenzel. Burial in Evergreen Mound west of Ottawa. Funeral services for Mrs Thom as A Love from Pomona Methodist church Friday at 2 p m. Rev L F Waring officiating.

Student Nurse Dies in Bus Truck Crash
CHARLOTTE North Carolina early today a chartered bus carrying student nurses from Charlotte crashed into a truck fifteen miles north of the city. One nurse was killed and 32 injured with some in critical condition. The dead nurse was Clara Jean Dillingham nineteen of Weaverville North Carolina. The bus was demolished.

Escaped Mental Patient Skirmish at Norman Hospital
An escaped patient from Central State Hospital in Norman brandished a gun during breakfast with about 200 staff present. Sheriff Al vin Garner confronted Elvie Stewart, a 45yearold Tulsa native, who was captured after firing a shot into the ceiling. No injuries were reported.
