Southwestern Bell to adopt new long distance dialing pattern
Southwestern Bell Kansas customers will soon begin dialing their three digit area code for long distance calls within the same area. The change, required by the North American Numbering Plan, will not affect rates. A permissive period starts July 1 with mandatory dialing from November 1, 1994, and businesses must modify PBXs and other equipment to handle the new pattern.
