Dieterich wins 800 in photo finish at state track

Dieterich of Ottawa won the girls 800 meters in a dramatic photo finish at the 4A state meet in Wichita. She clocked 2:22.29, edging Mulvane’s Ashley Kimble as Ottawa teammates including Lisa Morrisey and a 3200 relay squad also posted strong showings. Coach Chris Kornhaus praised Dieterich’s leadout and drive, while Morrisey handled nerves in a tough race.
