Miami County Feeds Rapid Exurban Growth Strains Roads
Miami County draws buyers from suburban areas seeking inexpensive land and open space, but at lower taxes. Developers push 47 subdivisions in two years, with average lot sizes shrinking from 9.3 to 6.1 acres, stressing gravel roads and requiring paving. Brokers report intense demand, with 10-acre wooded tracts selling fast and prices mostly between 50,000 and 100,000.
