Pope John Paul II urges Poland toward moral order during Skoczow Mass
Pope John Paul II urged Poles to define good and evil clearly as they navigate post communist social economic and political changes. About a quarter million worshipers gathered on a muddy hillside in Skoczow to hear a homily stressing a just moral order as essential to individual and societal life. The pope warned that totalitarian regimes left deep wounds in Poland’s moral fiber and called for healing while praising faithful conscience and national devotion.
