Prosecutors drop charges in Carson pinochle raid
In Carson California prosecutors refuse to charge a group of senior citizens after a May 8 raid on a dollar a game pinochle party at a mobile home park. Deputy District Attorney Kirk Newkirk said state law overrides local rules and pinochle is not listed as illegal gambling. The Carson 8 said they would not pay fines and favored a trial.
