Mary Ann Schenk 72 of Lee's Summit formerly Ottawa died May 11 2003 in Lee's Summit. Born October 19 1930 in Fort Scott Kansas she earned a nursing degree at St Luke's Hospital and raised her family with husband Joseph in Lake Potawaha. After her spouse died in 1976 she served 13 years as a Foreign Service nurse in Sri Lanka Yugoslavia Bidyot and Thailand before retiring to work in floral industry. She moved to Knox Village in 1994 remained active in volunteering and committee work. Survived by two daughters Debra and Michal Ann Rhodes, one son David, one brother John Mack, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Silent Unity Chapel Unity Village Lee's Summit with visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Floral arrangements not accepted.
