In Hawthorne New York a 56 year old woman Celia Freeman was arrested on vagrancy and dangerous weapon charges after her daughter Ruth Papatian 24 died after plunging from a speeding Chicago to New York Express near Harmon Station. Police said the mother jumped from the Pacemaker as the train slowed to 10 miles per hour seeking to reach her daughter. Three Killed In Explosion At Ft Bliss Site
A World War II target rocket being scrapped at Ft Bliss exploded after a torch fired by Wassenberg ignited the propellant charge.
