The Williamsburg High School Spring Art and Music Program is set for Tuesday in the high school gym. The art show begins at 7 30 p.m., followed by an 8 30 p.m. music program featuring the WHS choir. The event showcases student performances and artwork.
Speakers defined leadership as vision and courage to seize opportunities for others. Steve Markwood, leaving Ottawa University to lead a West Virginia college, received a plaque for his Leadership program work. The 1995 class included Decore and members Jay Bemis, James Casteel, Theresa Cummings, Sharon Jaworski, Jody Lancaster, Chad McClay, Tina McComb, Kay Pedersen, Paul Ritter, Stacey Robbins, Tonia Salvini, James Sellens, Scott Snow, Diane Stoddard, and Merle Taylor.
Saturday Square Fair offers face painting print making sand bottle crafting and Adopt A Pet booths. Oak Street between Fourth and Fifth hosts a varied menu of bratwurst hot dogs hamburgers tacos cotton candy caramel apples nachos funnel cakes pretzels and drinks. Anderson County High School FFA member Kelly Riley exhibited the champion Gelbvieh heifer at the Kansas Classic in Hutchinson as 158 heifers 125 steers 330 show lambs and 45 ewes were exhibited by FFA and 4-H youths statewide.

Lawrence Arts Center hosts a Dennis Helm retrospective with a reception tonight. about 50 works shown through June 7 at 200 W 9th. Natural History Museum offers Stream Search workshops Saturday and Inside Story Sunday for children age 4-10. registration required. Lawrence High School Issue: Theatre presents Resolution by Ric Averill Saturday at 1 p.m. in the auditorium. admission $2 adults $1 students.
