Veterans memorial fundraiser milestone in Franklin County
Ptearl pays tribute as Kenneth Chapman recalls the first fundraiser a July softball tourney in For est Park netting about 80 dollars. Franklin County Veterans Memorial volunteers now hold over 100000 dollars and plan a 2 PM ground breaking on the courthouse lawn for a granite memorial with 200 names and a rifle and helmet panel to be dedicated on Veteran’s Day November 11. A dozen volunteers drove the project with donations and frequent fundraisers over five years, culminating in a meaningful tribute to fallen service members.
