Rescuers recovered the body of Kevin R. Kendall 42 from Hebron Nebraska after he fell from a boat at Lovewell Reservoir south of Webber Kansas. Kendall, a Hastings native, disappeared 11 days earlier while trying to retrieve a fishing rod.
Quotations show Casey’s GenSt, Comm Fed Corp, and WalMart among stocks, with minor changes noted. Grain prices for hard wheat 2.35, corn 1.82, milo 2.88, soybeans 4.43 at Ottawa Co-op. Franklin County prices list grains at 2.32, 1.89, 2.75, and 4.34 respectively with daily changes.

In Wichita Kansas the River Festival begins four days after a deadly tornado in nearby Haysville and Wichita. Spokeswoman Mary Pat Martin says the event offers respite with clear skies drawing about 80 000 marchers and spectators for the Sundown Parade, a record turnout with balloons and a female Admiral Windwagon Smith leading the crowds.
