Miami County Eyes OMC Hospital Plan With Bond Backing
Miami County commissioners approve seeking construction funds from Olathe Medical Center for a new hospital. The plan envisions a 50 50 cost split and the use of industrial revenue bonds repaid from hospital income, with a 20 acre Paola site preferred and Osawatomie State Hospital as a fallback. The current nine acre site may become county admin space and the facility would be leased to a not for profit foundation formed by OMC and the county.
