New Saigon administration shown at mass rally in former palace
A sea of people gathered at Saigon's former presidential palace as the Saigon area commander pledged leniency for former Viet Cong opponents and respect for foreign residents. The event marked the regime's first week in power and featured a Ho Chi Minh portrait, security cordons, and a children’s flower delegation. Nearby, Cambodian refugees and a Khmer Rouge push for independence and production were reported as U.S. navy vessels transferred titles to the United States to meet Philippine demands.
