Hospital Notes Admits Four Patients and Two Dismissals

Hospital notes list admissions yesterday for Mrs Clara Barnes of Pomona Mrs Josie Hall of 407 West 3rd Mrs Clarence V Scott of Williamsburg and Ernest E Robinson of 427 Maple. Today Mrs H A Ward of chapter one Ottawa admitted. Dismissals yesterday include Mrs James Crain of 727 South Mulberry and Mrs William Ralston of 1155 North Cherry plus Mrs John Kramer of 303 Ash today.

Teen’s Chemistry Experiment Causes Explosion and Burns

An 18 year old high school student, John R. Newcomb, was hospitalized with burns and cuts after a chemistry experiment outside class exploded. Police said the youth mixed red phosphorus and potassium chloride in a plastic cup. His condition was not serious, and teacher H. F. Elsthorpe noted the effort was unrelated to any class project.

Kansas Newsman Wins Fellowship

A Kansas newspaperman, Francis J. Kelley of Hutchinson, was named among 10 fellowship recipients by the American Political Science Association. The program funds $4,000 for journalists to work on congressional staffs to gain firsthand knowledge of the legislative process and share insights with their communities.

Vanished Serum Baffles Doctor

BABY STILLBORN Graveside services will be held Saturday in Evergreen Mound cemetery for Clarence Vernon Scott Jr. son of Mr and Mrs Clarence V Scott of Williamsburg. The child was stillborn last night at 11 30 o clock in Ransom Memorial hospital. Relatives will meet at the Towner Funeral Chapel Saturday at 10 a.m. to go to the cemetery. Mrs Strickland brought home with her her sister s two children Steven four and Sallie Kay five months. Mr Strickland and Mr Fisher will arrive this evening. The body will arrive in Ottawa tomorrow. Truant Boy Kills Boy In West Dallas Neighborhood

In west Dallas a 12 year old truancy case fired a rifle from a second story window. A 22 caliber slug killed 8 year old Tommy Rendon instantly as he walked home from school. The shooter said he aimed to frighten him and did not intend to hit. He is in juvenile custody as funeral plans begin.
