Scott Harris, battalion chief and paramedic for Franklin County EMS, works 24-hour shifts about ten days each month. His crew begins with vehicle inspections and equipment checks before responding to ~six to seven calls daily, ranging from serious injuries to minor issues. Harris chose EMS over medical school to balance family life and has been with Franklin County since 2005.
