A series of community events listed for the weekend includes a Parade of Homes by the Franklin County Board of Realtors from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., a Friends of the Library Book Sale at 209 E Second St Ottawa, a Franklin County Farmers Market at Orscheln parking lot 2008 S Princeton St Ottawa from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., OK Kids Day at Pomona State Park, a free health and developmental screening at Lincoln Elementary School, Ottawa Community Arts Council kids activities at the Carnegie Cultural Center, a barbecue and silent auction at First United Methodist Church Garnett, a Quenemo Penny supper, a LifeCare Center for Women banquet and program in Ottawa, and Ottawa church events. The Ottawa Farmer's Market opens Saturdays at 8 a.m. through Oct. 31 with vendors including elk and bison meats and organic products. Tails on the Trails Dog Walk/Run at 1 p.m. Sunday to support Ben Martin Peck Animal Shelter.
