Ottawa earns seventh straight AI bond rating
Ottawa receives Moody's AI rating for the seventh consecutive year, described as favorable for a city of its size. City officials including Finance Director Scott Bird and Commissioner Blake Jorgensen note the rating lowers borrowing costs and reflects debt management, tax revenues, growth, and history of repayment. The city plans to borrow $5 million for Rock Creek Development Park infrastructure and $560,000 to pay off airport notes, with further projects cited like hospital, schools, and new businesses.
