The new traffic lights at Seventh and Main went into operation yesterday causing drivers long familiar with the crossroads to stumble. A taxi driver admitted running a red light twice as he adjusted to the signals, while police plan a lenient approach for the initial days.
The Footlight Club presented the play His First Girl in a junior high assembly. Cast included Basil Kelsey Sharon Abelaker Judy Corlis Pat Pierson and Fred Gollier. The play was directed by Mrs. John Gaddis. Sheldon Meats delivered a trombone solo with Kathleen Archer as accompanist.
Hillcrest Drive-In Theater will reopen Friday with a wide screen and other improvements. Owner Bill Bancroft says an additional screen and new lens allow Cinemascope. snack bar redecorated and children’s playground expanded.
