Immigrant charged with assaulting federal officer in Wichita

A Mexican national, 31 year old Jose Luis Ramirez Rico, is charged in a federal criminal complaint with assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon after allegedly brandishing a box cutter toward ICE agent Gregorio Perez during questioning about his immigration status in Wichita on March 17. Koch Industries pledges 1 million for Japan disaster relief with 500000 to Red Cross and 500000 to The Salvation Army.

Police records show at 2 03 p m Wednesday a 57 year old Ottawa man reported forged checks. At 4 p m a Gardner woman reported stalking by a known male subject. Theft reports include a 57 year old Ottawa man whose business was entered and items stolen at 7 26 a m, a 69 year old Ottawa man reporting theft on West Wilson, and a 32 year old Ottawa woman noting medicine stolen on West 15th. Investigation ongoing.
