Pleasant, longtime Ottawa attorney dies in New ton
Funeral services for Pleasant, a retired Ottawa attorney who died Monday evening in Newton, will be held Thursday at 2 p m at Lamb Funeral Home. Burial is in Highland Cemetery. He came to Ottawa in 1880, started his law practice in 1893, and remained active for 55 years. He served as Ottawa mayor, county and city attorney, three terms in the Kansas legislature, and on the Kansas State Tax Commission. His wife, the former May Whitebread, survives.
