Garnett hospital reaches physician building accord
The Anderson County Hospital board approved a lease with the City of Garnett to fund a 6,000 square foot physician office complex at an overall cap of 450000, with construction about 402500 and architect and bond costs. Several board members recused or abstained. interest rates on bonds hover around 9 to 9.5 percent. The complex will house multiple physicians including Leitch and Jones, plus Halla Moussa. Funeral set for philanthropist Muriel Kauffman in Kansas City
Muriel Kauffman died Friday from cancer surgery complications. A 1:30 p.m. Wednesday service will be held at Village Presbyterian Church Mission to be followed by burial at Marion Park in south Kansas City where her husband Ewing was buried in 1993. Visitation is 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Stine and McClure Funeral Home chapel.
