Myra M Howell 85 of Ottawa died March 8 2012 at Ottawa Retirement Village. Services set for 2 p m Monday at Lamb Roberts Funeral Home with burial at Highland Cemetery. Family hour 4 to 6 p m Sunday at the funeral home. Born October 28 1926 in Ottawa to Leslie and Lorena Sutherland she lived in Ottawa all her life. A 1944 Ottawa High School graduate she was a homemaker and bookkeeper for over 20 years including Ran som Memorial Hospital. retired 1988. She married Robert P Howell September 23 1944 in Ottawa. he died February 17 2007. Survived by son the Rev Daniel Howell Providence R I two daughters Paula Moore Baldwin City and Marsha Howell Hominy Oklahoma brother Lyle Sutherland Colorado Springs twin sister Vera Surface Overland Park 13 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren. Memorials to American Diabetes Association or First Baptist Church Ottawa. Condolences to Lamb Roberts Funeral Home and Ottawa Herald.

Dale Keyes Strider 81 Dies in Hartselle Alabama

Dale Keyes Strider 81 died March 6 2012 at his residence in Hartselle Alabama with family at his side He was born April 15 1930 in Ottawa Kansas son of Joseph and Vera Strider A KU engineering graduate he served in the US Army earning a Bronze Star in the Korean War He married Doris Gayle Conner in 1955 in Ottawa He moved to Hartwood Farm Hartselle in 1963 worked as an aeronautical engineer at Redstone Arsenal Huntsville contributing to Saturn Apollo and Skylab programs He joined Habitat for Humanity and led local community service He is survived by his wife four sons three grandchildren and one great grandchild Funeral services are planned at Hartselle First United Methodist Church with interment at Hartselle City Cemetery Memorials may go to Hospice North Alabama or Habitat for Humanity

Henry Wisner 81 dies. longtime Nazarene pastor

Henry Earl Wisner 81 of Fort Scott died March 8 2012 at home. Born June 19 1930 in Johnstown Pennsylvania he married Merna Ream Feb 25 1955. He served in the US Marine Corps during Korea and led Nazarene churches in Kansas Oklahoma Pennsylvania and fought at Indian missions. Burial at U S National Cemetery with VFW honors. Survivors include four sons a daughter eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
