Prosecutors seek dismissal in 1984 infant death case
Cincinnati prosecutors move to drop murder charges against a 12-year-old girl who confessed to drowning her infant cousin in a bucket of bleach and water in 1984. Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters calls the action a terrible mistake and notes a child under seven cannot form criminal intent. The Juvenile Court judge was expected to dismiss the charge. The 10-month-old death had previously been ruled accidental.
