Kansas Crime Up 5.1 Percent In 1991 Says KBI Report
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation reports a 10.4 percent rise in violent crimes and a 5.1 percent overall increase in 1991. Murders, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults all climbed year over year, while property crimes also rose. Fourth quarter 1991 showed declines from the third quarter, with total crimes down 11.6 percent. City figures vary, Wichita up 10.9 percent, Topeka 11.5 percent, and other towns showing mixed changes. Continued on page 3.
