Belushi Dies at 33 in Hollywood Hotel
Comedian John Belushi was found dead Friday in a bungalow behind the Chateau Marmont Hotel Hollywood. Police said the death appeared natural with an autopsy planned. Belushi, 33, star of Saturday Night Live and films like Animal House Blues Brothers and 1941, checked into the hotel for a Paramount project. A female companion was questioned and released. Belushi’s friends and fellow SNL cast members memorialized him as deeply funny. He is survived by his wife and parents and two brothers.

Carlin Docking ticket not definite Holt says
In Topeka former Democratic state Rep Nim Holt said Gov John Carlin has not decided to pick Tom Docking as his lieutenant governor running mate. Holt met Carlin after media speculation that Docking aims for the No 2 spot and said Carlin would inform him if a decision is made. Chaney supports Holt and warns Docking could alienate party factions while Docking’s youth could fail to energize Wichita unions.

Judge dismisses case of attempted conspiracy in murder plot
In CLATHE Kansas Judge Robert Jones ruled Robbie Sexton Jr., Gardner, did not commit a crime by offering to pay an undercover agent to murder his wife Nancy. Kansas law defines conspiracy as two or more agreeing to commit a crime, so solicitation alone is not illegal. Sexton remains jailed on unrelated marijuana possession auto theft and probation charges.
