Franklin County Jail Police Department reports three Wednesday arrests. Ali cia Pacheco, 18, Ottawa, detained at 28 Canterbury Drive on an Osage County warrant. Sandra Swanson, 49, Kincaid, held at 2000 North Davis Avenue on suspicion of DUI. Heidi Thompson, 37, Ottawa, taken at 200 South Cedar Street on DUI suspicion.

Ottawa man cited for inattentive driving after two-vehicle crash

At 6 10 p m Wednesday in the 2100 block of Princeton Street Joe Pope 32 of Ottawa struck a vehicle driven by Tracie Penland 48 of Quenemo. Pope was cited for inattentive driving.

Prom Boutique event invites 150 girls for free prom wear

The fourth annual Prom Boutique at First United Methodist Church in Ottawa runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will offer free prom dresses, hair consultations, facials, and refreshments for Franklin County high school students. Organizers expect 350 to 400 dresses, including 33 new designer gowns donated from near Kansas City, with tuxedos added this year and expanded door prizes and caterers.

During county wide cleanup roll off containers will be in Pomona Williamsburg Richmond and Princeton April 7 9 for free dumping.
