A study of 93,934 US kidney transplants from 1988 to 1996 shows reduced rejection rates and longer median survival for kidneys from living and dead donors. Notable gains come from immunosuppressants and infection control, with living donor kidneys now averaging 36 years of survival.
Ransom Memorial Hospital will begin offering total knee replacement surgeries in April with Johnson County Orthopedics providing services four days a week at the RMH Outpatient Clinic and Surgery departments.
