Witness credibility questioned in Labette student plot case
The Labette County prosecutor questioned the credibility of witnesses in a case against five Labette County High School students accused of plotting to kill teachers and administrators. The suspects, all 17 at arrest, were charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and remain free on bond as the investigation continues.

Several area businesses including the Wichita School District, the post office, the city, hotels, restaurants, and numerous metal shops and service firms seek court permission to expand a groundwater pollution lawsuit filed in October 1998. The city plans a 20 to 30 million dollar cleanup funded by polluters, while defendants argue they are not responsible for all pollution and that 650 other potentially responsible parties exist.
