Franklin County Commission approves LEPP grant and budgets
On June 18 2001 the Franklin County Board of Commissioners met in regular session with Chair Waymire and two commissioners present. They approved signing a $16327 LEPP Grant Agreement with KDHE and ratified minutes from June 13. Also discussed were zoning matters at 4714 Delaware Road and aerial photos for the Appraiser's Office, plus a $55600 contract addendum with Markhard for document revisions. Other actions included payroll changes, a water tanker rental for Rock Creek resurfacing, traffic counts on Eisenhower Road, ambulance paging system notes, and ongoing state EMS radio transmitter issues. The meeting adjourned at 11 38.

Dehn Family Reunion Held At Mt. Pleasant Church
The Dehn family reunion occurred June 10 at Mt. Pleasant Church Fellowship Hall north of Melvern. A noon potluck followed a prayer by Clarene Dehn. Bonnie Briscoe shared Dehn heirlooms and their histories while a film recapped last year’s gathering. Attendees named include multiple Dehns and relatives from Topeka Lyndon Quenemo Melvern and other towns. The next reunion is set for the second Sunday in June 2002 at the Mt. Pleasant Church Fellowship Hall.

The Rev. Marge Cox presented The Report from Annual Conference at Lane United Methodist Church. Kids Club meets Wednesday 3 to 5 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Forrest Brandt preached Daring Disciplines at Spring Grove Friends Church. Caleb James led a Father’s Day presentation and gifts followed by a pastoral family fundraiser next Sunday. A 7 p.m. July 1 community singspiration at Spring Grove Friends Church promises songs, food, and fellowship.
