Ruby M Millbern was 87 and died June 27 2001 in Ottawa Kansas at Village Manor Care Center. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery with cremation to follow. She was born January 1 1914 in Burlington to James Lincoln and Mary Reneau and worked as a bookkeeper at Flowing Wells Water Company in Tucson. She married Gerald Millbern, later divorced, and was a member of the 15th Street Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to the 15th Street Church of Christ or Midland Hospice. Glenn C Woods 79 died at home in Ottawa. Funeral services 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church. A full obituary will be printed later. Charles Gale 77 died this morning in Wellsville at Olathe Medical Center. Arrangements by Wilson and Son Funeral Home Wellsville.

Los Angeles AP reports actor Jack Lemmon, two time Oscar winner known for The Apartment Some Like It Hot Days of Wine and Roses and Save the Tiger, died at 76 from cancer complications. His bedside circle included wife Felicia two children and a stepdaughter at USC Norris Cancer Center.

Moose Rescued From 6 Foot Well After Eight Help
In Moose in Fort Kent Maine rescuers used a 10 foot pole needle and tractor lift to hoist a yearling moose from a 6 foot well. Wardens tranquilized the animal and treated minor scrapes before releasing it back to the woods. Town manager Don Guimond praised the safe outcome.
