Graves taps Bogina for Kansas tax appeals panel chair
Senator Gus Bogina a long time Kansas legislator will become chairman of the State Board of Tax Appeals as Governor Bill Graves announced the appointment effective July 18 He replaces Jack Shriver narrowing the GOP majority on the board to 3 2 and allowing Graves to influence the chair. Bogina 67 has 15 years in the Senate including Ways and Means chairmanship and 6 years in the House He is known as a tough budget negotiator with a reputation for opposing budget requests he does not back.
