Census data show nearly one third of births to young women are to unmarried mothers, with 625000 such births in the year ending June 1985. Among 18 to 24 year olds, 74.5 percent of Black births and 20.2 percent of White births were to unmarried mothers.
A 67 year old Kenosha man, John H., faces homicide by drunken driving charges after Lorraine H., 64, died from injuries suffered when he refused to give up driving during a party. Lorraine told police she hadn’t been drinking. BAC measured .26. She died of a ruptured aorta after the wreck south of Highway 11 near Mount Pleasant.
