Plot to wage jihad linked to Sears Tower plot indictments
An indictment charges Narseal Batiste and six others with conspiring to attack the United States, including a plan to damage the FBI building in North Miami Beach and the Sears Tower in Chicago. They sought al Qaida support, pledged allegiance, and boasted of a ground war. Residents described the group as brainwashed Muslims recruiting youths. Security at Sears Tower was heightened but officials said no credible threat existed beyond criminal discussions.
