Gallery offers small pieces by big artists in Garnett
The Garnett Public Library hosts a small collection of early 20th century American paintings sculptures prints and drawings by well known names. The Mary Bridget McAuliffe Walker Art Collection, curated with help from Robert Logan and maintained by Robert Cugno, originated from Maynard Walker a New York art dealer and Garnett native who loaned and donated works. The gallery, founded in 1951 and named for Walker's mother, remains a community staple in Garnett.

Jayhawker Days festival altered by weekend rain
Despite intermittent Saturday showers the Williamsburg Jayhawker Booster Club called the event a success. Friday’s picnic ice cream social and music drew a good crowd while Girl Scout Troop 3254 ran an inflatable carnival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendance was affected by the rain, though organizers emphasized a dry setup earlier and a positive overall turnout. The parade featured local youths Wyatt Thompson and Gage Sims among attendees.
