Wild Well Capped Ends Gas Well Disaster Threat
Renov o Pa reports one of the nation s largest natural gas wells was capped after an explosion last week. Oil troubleshooter Paul Red Adair and a 16 man team used an 8000 pound cap and bolts to seal the well head while Ed Ingram of the New York State Natural Gas Co turned a valve to stop the roaring gas. The cap blew off Wednesday due to a gasket fault causing a later blast that injured 10 workers and halted the feed of about 200 million cubic feet daily.
